YET ANOTHER

Here tonite is another layout from my day at Nemours.  Again using that Echo Park collection.  I feel like I am really slacking in my creating only posting one layout a nite.  I did work a bit tonite on a canvas background for a proejct on Soul Scrappers.  Hopefully I will be posting that this week some time.

Tonites layout uses Let's Get Sketchy May Week 3 challenge sketch.

and my layout -

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hopefully I will be back on track soon!

ANOTHER FROM NEMOURS

I have another layout from my day at Nemours for you this evening.  It's another page using the Echo Park Times & Seasons 2 collection.  I used the Monday 5/12 challenge sketch at Turtle Soup.

The Sketch:

I also used some metal accents from Grandma's Attic by TPC Studio for challenge #8 at Craft Hoarders Anonymous.  I mounted the hot air balloon sticker on corrugate and added it with pop-dots to give it more of the illusion of flight.

My Layout:

I hope that you have enjoyed a bit more of my day.

Here is the sketch:

BACK TO WORK AND A FRESH SUBJECT

I still have several more photos from the Disney 2010 vacation as well as from Winterthur (and of both my kids growing up) but sometimes you just need to work with a fresh batch of photos.  These just arrived the other day from Shutterfly (first time I used them - I prefer the immediate gratification of seeing them the minute I print them and being able to work with them right away but when you have no car you do what you have to do!)

This is the entry to Nemours Garden and Mansion - another of the big gorgeous DuPont places here in Delaware.  This one belonged to Alfred I DuPont.  The estate is on 222 acres and the 47,000 square foot mansion has more than 70 rooms.

I rotated Sketch #3 from Scrapbook.com's May PageMaps 1/4 turn clockwise.

The sketch:

This is also for Turtle Soup Inspiration challenge #1 - use black and white plus one other color and Inspiration photo #242 at Just Us Girls as well as for Sketches4all Stacy's May Stash Challenge to use black.

The Inspiration:

I also used some fun feathers that I got from The Pinque Peacock as my unusual embellishment (as well as some glitter, ric rack and a button) for Lasting Memories challenge LM#190.

Nearly forgot to add the layout!

Hope that you are enjoying this long Memorial Day weekend and I hope to have more creations to add here soon!

START OF THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

My first layout for the weekend uses the Design Seeds Color Palette (with optional twist - a layout of travel - we drove from Dumont, NJ to Orlando, FL back in 2010) from Scrapbook.com and Fia's May Sketch Challenge from Skeches4All by Brenda Ragsdale.

Here is the Color Palette:

And here is Brenda's fun sketch:

And here is my layout from Toy Story at Walt Disney World Orlando, FL.

I am also entering this at Grand Divas Creative Corner! (Brenda's blog!)

Today has been a LONG day so I am off to bed but plan on lots more creating over the weekend!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  All comments greatly appreciated!

A LITTLE BIT OF PURPLE

Tonite's layout has a purple theme going wtih it.  It started with the Purple Passion challenge #259 at Allsorts and the photo inspiration at Inspired By #115, the color palette #241 at Just Us Girls and the PageMaps Sketch #4 from Scrapbook.com.

The Inspiration Photo:

The Color Palette:

The Sketch:

And here with a few more photos from Winterthur - my layout -

I may do a tad more creating tonite but probably will not finish early enough to create add to this post as I am doing my best to get on a better bedtime schedule.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

SOME OTHER SCENES FROM WINTERTHUR

Tonight I used May Sketch #1 from Let's Get Sketchy along with the color palette ctd292 from Color Throwdown (which I hadn't realized closed yesterday.) Fortunately it also falls into a color variation on Category Two - Color from Scrapbook.com and the upper right hand block of color from SEI Lifestyle Blog Tyra's May Color Combo.  I also used 3 different paper collections for UUS4 over at Soul Scrappers (which also closed yesterday.)

The Sketch:

Color Palettes:

My 3 different paper collections are SEI Couture (the background), SEI On the Coast (the lime green flower pattern) and the title 'Magnifique' from a K&Company pad.  There are also solid papers - the pink from SEI A Fair Day and the Silver Metallic is Creative Imaginations.

And here is my layout:

So sadly most of the challenges I had hoped to enter have closed but I still enjoyed putting this layout together.  I wish that you could see the photos better as they are really beautiful in person. Thanks for stopping by.  Hopefully tomorrow I will have more creative time and more to share with you.

SOME BLOOMS AT WINTERTHUR

Tonite I created another layout from my visit to Winterthur last summer.

I used May sketch #2 from Let's Get Sketchy which I rotated 1/4 turn clockwise.
I also opted to use 3 photos rather than 2.

I also used the ingredients in the Scrapbook.com May 5 ingredients plus yours which called for the following:

INGREDIENTS: (YOUR INTERPRETATION!)
1. Color: Green apple
2. a cluster(s)
3. brackets or parenthesis
4. edge punching
5. YOU pick 1 from my LO (EXAMPLE Layout) below!

(my item choice was the ribbon and slide!)

and here is my layout:

and it's late so I'm off to bed!

Thanks for stopping by and Sweet Dreams!

TIME FOR A TAG!

Tonite I tried out another of my new Prima doll stamps.  I had fun with this one as she looks like my eldest son's girlfriend so I used their prom photo as some extra inspiration.

Here is a photo of Robert & Kathryn at their prom back in 2011.  The prom was actually the event that started their dating.  They are still together today (and I love her and would be very happy if she becomes his forever choice!)

I am entering my tag in the following challenges:
Divas by Design - Anything but a card
Pinque Peacock - Challenge #5 - Altered Tag
Dragons Dream - Challenge TIO#166 The Letter "Q" and Gold
Flying Unicorn - May Parade of the Paper Dolls
Word Art Wednesday - Challenge #132 Anything Goes
Craft Hoarders Anonymous - challenge #7 Ribbon, Lace and Twine Oh My!
Alphabet Challenge - G is for Gorgeous Gowns

And now without further ado...here is my tag -

And now I need to get to bed.  Church and Sunday School early tomorrow!

LET IT GO!

Todays theme for the Scraps to Treasures Team is to use a song to create something with our scraps. The song Robin chose is called 'Let It Go' from the Disney movie "Frozen".

After reviewing the lyrics I decided that I would be making a mixed media art journal page.

The Lyrics:

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight,
not a footprint to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation and it looks like I'm the queen.
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside.
Couldn't keep it in, Heaven knows I tried.
Don't let them in, don't let them see.
Be the good girl you always have to be.
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know.
Well, now they know!
Let it go, let it go!
Can't hold it back any more.
Let it go, let it go!
Turn away and slam the door.
I don't care what they're going to say.
Let the storm rage on.
The cold never bothered me anyway.
It's funny how some distance,
makes everything seem small.
And the fears that once controlled me, can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do,
to test the limits and break through.
No right, no wrong, no rules for me.
I'm free!
Let it go, let it go.
I am one with the wind and sky.
Let it go, let it go.
You'll never see me cry.
Here I'll stand, and here I'll stay.
Let the storm rage on.
My power flurries through the air into the ground.
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back; the past is in the past!
Let it go, let it go.
And I'll rise like the break of dawn.
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand, in the light of day.
Let the storm rage on!
The cold never bothered me anyway...

I gessoed my page and then used several shades of blue spray inks and paints for my background.  I decided to use the title, 'Let It Go', and the line 'the past is in the past' .  I selected white and silver sticker letters to add that to the lower part of my page.

I selected a pile of red scraps-

and I got out my Sizzix Ransom Alphabars.

From the scraps I cut letters for feelings that belonged in the past.

anger
pain
hate
fear
rage
terror

I used both the letters and the negatives to form the words which I adhered randomly to the top portion of the page.

I covered the whole page with Matte ModPodge.

And here it is-

Be sure to go over to the Scraps to Treasure team page and see what the rest of the team has created from this musical inspiration.

ANOTHER WONDERFUL COLLECTION

For today I am here to show you Colorful Creations blog 2nd sketch challenge for the month of May. This is the sketch we had to work with:

These photos are of the Campbell Collection of Soup Tureens at Winterthur.  I rotated the sketch 1/4 turn right.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope that you will enjoy a visit to this wonderful museum as I have plenty of photos to come.  (many of which you have probably by now already seen as I prepared this post before creating many of the layouts you have already seen!)

A NIGHT OF FIRSTS...

Tonite I created a layout with my very first Prima doll stamp. I chose one that I thought looked elegant and then went through my Winterthur photos and found the beautiful winding staircase.  I also used sketch #2 from Soul Scrappers - my first entry for that site. That challenge is all about negative space...this is about as much negative space as I ever do.   I used a beautiful color combo from Sketches4All.

Here is the sketch (which I rotated 1/4 turn clockwise):

Here is the beautiful color palette:

and here is my layout:

I am also entering this over at Flying Unicorn May Paper Doll Challenge, and at My Mum's Craft Shop challenge #17 - Lots of Layers, and Divas by Design current challenge - Anything But a Card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope to see you again tomorrow (hint - it's Colorful Creations Team B sketch reveal!)

Tonite I have a few more layouts from my visit to Winterthur.  The first uses sketch #29 from Scrap Africa and the monotone color theme from Scrapbook.com.

The Sketch:

The Color:

and with the color there was a twist - create a layout about something you love to do.  I love to go to museums.

My Layout:

The next layout is also a monochromatic in that color, using Page Maps Sketch #1 from the May Scrapbook.com Challenge.

Here's the sketch:

And here is my layout:

The circles are done with Rock Candy Stickles and that great flower is by Pinque Peacock.

Hope that you have enjoyed a bit more of my visit to Winterthur.  Keep stopping by there are still several more photos to go!

IT'S A TWO CARD KINDA NITE!

I have two card to share with you tonite.  The first uses Turtle Soup Sunday Sketch 5/4 and hexagons for Scrapbook.com Card Challenge Product.

The Sketch:

My Card:

My next card uses Turtle Soup Sunday Sketch 5/11 and the colors from the palette at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #260.

The Sketch:

The Color Palette:

My Card:

Both cards have lots of dots for challenge #11 over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  They also are both cards that you would send a friend so I am also entering this in Love To Create challenge #115 - Friendship.
