JUST BEFORE BED

Not much time for creating today.  I had great plans to get a lot of creating done but things don't always work out as they should.  I had to take my son to the post office to get his passport this afternoon and tonite I had a meeting at church.  Next thing I know it's nearly bedtime!

I have two more layouts from my day at Nemours last summer.  (one from last night and one from tonight!)

First I have a page inspired by challenge #92 over at Feeling Sketchy.

Next is the Team A sketch from the Colorful Creations blog.

and here is what I did with it -

I know this is a really short post for me but I've been staying up far too late recently and tomorrow I have a work day so I have to call it a night already!  I promise to have something more for you tomorrow - at least THAT is the plan!

Have a great night!

JUST A FEW...

It has been a rough week.  Lots of lack of mojo combined with lack of a car left me just totally lacking...

But today I was finally able to get a few layouts done...

The first was for a recipe challenge at Soul Scrappers.  Here is the recipe:

  1. Add a banner
  2. Have a photo of a cake
  3. Add the colour purple
  4. Use a border punch
  5. Use some ink
  6. Add some dimension

and here is my layout:

Next I was inspired by Case File 125 at Color Stories Inspiration.

I included all 5 colors of the Scheme.  My Evidence were flowers, scallops, floral pattern (background paper), textured paper (yellow cardstock was embossed), and for Testimony I used some lyrics from the hymn 'It is well with my Soul'.

I used PageMap #2 from this months challenge at Scrapbook.com.

I used 2 different fonts (plus my handwriting!) for Using Up Stash - Alphas over at Soul Scrappers.  And my photos are from my day at Nemours.

and last, I used June Week #1 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!

my last layout:

and it is WAY too late so I am off to bed!  Sweet dreams to all!

HAVING FUN WITH JULIE NUTTING/PRIMA DOLLS!

I've been working on a mixed media canvas for the past week or so.  I started it in the usual way - with a coat of gesso.  Then I took my favorite texture medium - DryDex spackling and some of my Crafters Workshop templates.

On top of this I added strips of dry wall tape.  This is the first time I've used that and I'm sure I will be playing with it again soon.

Next I took some Gelatos and a wet brush and added color.

The colors were a bit more vibrant than what I had envisioned so I took some watered down gesso and covered it.

Ok...now I'm ready...

There was a quote challenge on Soul Scrappers and I knew exactly how I wanted to use it.

Here is the quote:

"Be a girl with a mind,
A woman with an attitude
And a lady with class."
-Author Unknown

I had recently purchased 3 of the Julie Nutting/Prima Doll stamps and they were just perfect!  I took some StazOn Jet Black ink and stamped them on an off white cardstock and then fussy cut them out.  I stamped them again on various patterned papers and fussy cut their clothes, shoes and hair. I took a flesh colored Spectrum Noir pen and added a bit of color to the skin. I printed the quote on a peachy-pink patterned paper in separate lines and I cut them out with a ragged edged tearing ruler.

I laid the dolls and the quote out and moved them around until I got them where I wanted them and then I glued them down.  I covered it all with a coat of ModPodge Matte Medium.

I have also entered this in Flying Unicorn June Valley of the Paper Dolls challenge, A2Z Scraplets June challenge for an Off-the-Page Project, a Blog Named Hero challenge #45 It's not in the Cards calling for anything but a card, 4 Crafty Chicks Crazy Egg challenge #196 Anything Goes and Pinque Peacock challenge #6 Anything Goes.

Now all that's left to do is finish it up with some embellishing...

So come back tomorrow and see what I've opted for...
