MAKIN' IT WITH MOD PODGE

Welcome to the final hop of
the Krazy Crafting Crew!

Today's creations will be all things ModPodge!

We are an independent hop team that enjoys sharing our work with everyone and hope to inspire you with new ideas for your own creativity. We are a team who loves to do all different themes, such as cards, layouts, 3D projects and so much more. We do all the paper crafting from traditional to digital. Mostly traditional, every now and then there may be a little mixed media too!

Now on to some fun.

Here is the project I have made for today’s hop-

I started off with this -

Next I took masking tape and closed up the open spots on the bottom and reinforced the seams.  Then I took black cardstock and lined the inside and covered the bottom.

I decided to use the Couture Collection by SEI.  I chose two papers - a floral and a stripe.  I cut the first one a bit larger than the sides so that it would wrap around.

I added the other pattern to the other two sides as well as to the carrier top.

Next I took washi tape and went around all the edges so that they would be smooth.

I covered the inside and outside with a layer of Mod Podge Gloss-Lustre to seal it.

I thought this would be it but when I went back to my 'art' area I happen to notice a bag of ribbons and lace that had a trim that matched perfect so I decided to dress it up a bit...

And I just realized that I never told you the purpose.  It is a pen caddy!  There are four sections so I can keep my pens separated by type!

Our hostess for today is Jerise Havenga. Please make sure you stop by her blog and take a peek. She has a neat little give away going on and you can find out all the details on how to sign up for it.

Here is the total line-up!

Thanks so much for coming by and for all your support on our previous hops.

I am also going to enter this project in the Crafty Creations Anything But a Card challenge and Flying Unicorn Anything Goes challenge.

ALL FRAMED UP BY THE KRAZY CRAFTING CREW

Welcome to our ALL FRAMED UP BLOG HOP brought to you by our Krazy Crafting Crew.

We are an independent hop team that enjoys sharing our work with everyone and we hope to inspire you with new ideas for your
own creativity.

We are a team who loves to do all different themes, such as cards, layouts, 3D projects and so much more. We do all the paper crafting from traditional to digital. Mostly traditional, plus every now and then there may be a little mixed media too!

Now on to some fun.

Here is the project that I have created for today’s hop -

I started out with two plain black wooden frames I picked up at the local dollar store.

I took out 6 rolls of coordinated Washi Tape that I had just waiting for a project.  3 of them were wide and 3 were narrow.

The first one I did I used the narrow tapes and I placed them in various random ways and sizes around the whole frame.  This turned out to be much more time consuming than I expected.  The frames came with photo mats so I popped them out and used the wide tapes to decorate the mat this time using a pattern which went much faster.

The second frame I did with the wider tapes on the frame in a specific pattern and the mat with the narrow tapes also in a pattern.  These went much faster!

Our hostess today is Cicily at Pink Dalmation Scrapper. For Blog Candy her  sponsor is Scrapbook Generation.
They are sponsoring two winners who each get to choose an ebook sketchbook of their choice.

WELCOME TO THE KRAZY CRAFTING CREW GIFT CARD HOLDER BLOG HOP!

Well, it's that time of the year for gift gifting...

and for many families that begins with the Thanksgiving holiday if you're trying to fit in all the families on both sides and extended ones.. so we've put together a great hop today with plenty of ideas to make those gift cards look like a million bucks! I personally love gift cards... no hassle in returns, wrong sizes, etc. and with the ability to buy cards for even Visa and/or MasterCard, how could your gift even be considered to be re-gifted!

They will surely find something they want or need..

For hopping today, we have a gift for some lucky person.  A 17.95 value Close To My Heart Merry and Bright Holiday Stamp set. You'll have a great little set to make your Holiday cards, gift tags, or other décor. A winner will be chosen by Nov. 6th so I can get this in the mail and off to the winner in plenty of time!.

How to win?
Comment on each blog and show our creative team some love please!

If you're not a follower, you might want to be... this group does a hop every first Sunday so you won't want to miss what's in store! Be sure to leave a way to contact you as well!

Now let's get hopping! If you havent already started head to Janet's Creative World where it all began (and where those awesome stamps are up for grabs!)

Today turned out to be the perfect day as Michael decided to buy his sister a gift card for her birthday and needed a holder.

I have never created a gift card holder before.  I just bought a great die to do one but as I haven't tried it out I figured the learning curve might take longer. (Boy was I wrong!)  I found some tutorials on YouTube and worked from some of those instructions.

First I cut my Kraft cardstock and used my favorite border punch on the edge.  Then, as I nearly always do - I edged everything with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Next I cut some birthday paper to fit both of the outsides.

I didn't care for the belly band idea with the pattern I was using so instead I added a few glue dots on the back and put a coordinating ribbon.

I added a bit more of my patterned paper and a sentiment inside.

And finally I am finished!

Now you're off to: So Many Crafts So Little time

I've posted the line-up in case you get lost... Happy Holidays!

TO DIE FOR...

Welcome to the Krazy Crafting Crew's October blog hop: To "Die" For. Many crafters today have die cutting machines and we thought it would be fun to let them show off some of the work they do with their machines and tell us which machine they own. I can guarantee you will have a fun time looking at all their creations and if you're in the mood for a new die cutting machine, their work might sway you on which one to buy.

Our hostess for this hop is Jearise from Lorby's World and her blog is the place to start. She will have a give away going on so make sure you check out how to get signed up for that while you're visiting her.

Now let the fun begin...

I currently own the Sizzix Big Kick. I also have the Side Kick which I have had from when the Sizzlet dies came out. Now everything can be used in my Big Kick so the little machine only gets to come to crops if I am not planning on using embossing folders or full size dies.

This is my machine and the dies and embossing folders I used for these cards:

The first reason I went with the Sizzix Big Kick is that I already had a huge collection of dies from when I used the Sizzix Big Red Original Machine. While I had the Big Red I also purchased the Side Kick when they introduced Sizzlets which are much thinner smaller dies than the originals. The next reason was that I had tested out a Cricut at a scrapbook shop and found it much too complicated - it was great to be able to cut the same design in a variety of sizes and to be able to download cuts from online or design your own but the learning curve was greater than I was willing to do when I already had so much invested in my 'so easy' to use Sizzix. At this point I decided to upgrade my 'Big Red' to the 'Big Kick'. After I got the Big Kick I started collecting embossing folders. I use these nearly all the time. The machine is SO easy to use. You create a 'sandwich' with your die/folder and paper between some cutting plates. You put it at the front of the machine and crank the handle. It quickly rolls out the back complete.

Saturday was World Card Making Day so I decided to use my Sizzix Big Kick to help me create some cards.

The first one uses Sketch #313 from Mojo Monday.

The Sketch:

The next one uses sketch #194 from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenges.
