MAKING THE GOAL!

This weekend was another online crop and my normal goals for a weekend crop are 4 layouts and 4 cards.  Yesterday I obviously made the layout goal (and some).  For today I needed to complete the cards.  I was getting tired by the third but wanted to make the goal so here we are!

My first card was for the Paper Secrets CYAO challenge.  I had to use the following sketch plus 3+ hexagons and wood.  The Colorful Creations Creative Card Challenge called for using 3 patterned papers so this card also meets the criteria for that challenge.

I cut my 3 hexagons and layered them on top of each other.  Then I took a wood piece of holly.  I colored it first with markers and then to subdue it I went over the top with some black ink which I also used to ink the edges of my hexagons and circles.  I added a rub on sentiment which reads Seasons Greetings.

Here is my first card:

My second card used sketch #197 from Unscripted Sketches and the color palette challenge #102 Red, Pink, Purple and/or White from Die-cuttin Divas.  For this card I started with some pink patterned paper.  Next I cut a strip of Coredinations red/white cardstock which I embossed and sanded.  I backed this with some red cardstock.  I added a small square of purple cardstock on which I put a charm that reads 'Follow Your Bliss'.

The sketch:

The card:

Card #3 used Color Palette #229 from Color Throwdown and Deconstructed Sketch #89 from Decontructing Jen.  I used scallops and lace for the Frilly Challenge at Delightful Challenges.  I started with a layer of sparkly brown cardstock.  I edged some olive patterned paper with a scallop punch.  I added some blush cardstock which I also edged with the scallop punch.  I added a square that had the colors and the sentiment Let It Snow which was on a brown sticker. The edges of everything were inked with brown ink.   Last I added some white snowflake lace.

My 4th and final creation for today used color palette #62 from Inspired By, and Pretty Patterns sketch number 82 from My Time Made Easy.  I added a butterfly which made it qualify for the "A" - Anything With Wings challenge from Alphabet Challenges, things with wings for Allsorts Challenges week #194, and Less Is More challenge #107 Up in the Air (things that fly).  I started this one with some yellow patterned paper, some yellow cardstock, grey herringbone patterned paper,  a white cardstock oval, some white gimp, and a yellow felt butterfly.

God Bless You Peggy!

Last week we had a call from our old landlady with some very sad news.  Her Mom who was our upstairs neighbor and friend had passed away.  She was a sweet woman.  She was always in such tremendous pain and had a difficult time getting around, needing a walker and a wheelchair.  Nearly the only time she would get out of the house was monthly when I would drive her to the hospital for her doctor appointment.  She was so sweet and always ordered us surprises - DVDs, make-up, household gadgets etc.  Always thinking of someone else even when she suffered so.  Well, as sad as it is to hear that she is no longer with us, at least she is free from all that pain and rejoicing with the Lord.  I made this card for her family in her memory and to bring them some comfort and let them know we are thinking of them and praying for them at this most difficult time.

I used the sketch #80 from My Time Made Easy

I used a creme and black velvet paper by SEI for my background.  I stamped John 14:27 and my sentiment on grey cardstock and matted with black cardstock.  I embellished simply using one of my favorite Sizzix embossing diecuts.

Here is my card:

I am also entering this in Word Art Wednesday Chellenge #64.

Thank you for stopping by.

I decided to create a few cards.

The first one was using the color palette #74 from My Time Made Easy.

I chose a few patterned papers and a transparency as well as one of my favorite Friendship stamps.

My next card uses a sketch from iSpy Sketches.

I chose to use the same background paper then I cut ovals of black corrugate and white cardstock. I stamped my sentiment onto the white one as well as some border stamp leaves. Underneath the ovals is a white ribbon with black dots and on top is a several layered black and white flower.

I hope you have enjoyed my cards and now you need to head over to
Love 2 Create to finish up your trip.

Here is the complete lineup incase you get lost along the way

Have a great time this weekend girls and I am looking forward to seeing your posts!

MONDAY MONDAY

Today I have a tag and two cards to share with you.  We will start with the tag.  The tag was done for a challenge over at Dragon's Dream which calls for the color orange, leaves, metal and a real stamp.  I also entered it into the tag challenge over at Colorful Creations calling for a Halloween themed tag.  I started by embossing my tag and coloring it with Persimmon and Walnut stain Distress Inks.  I then used a leaf stamp and stamped all over the background.  I added some Halloween diecuts and a few sticker leaves, a metal brad that says Halloween and finished it off with some fun fibers.

Here it is:

My first card used inspiration from Inspired By which I chose to use the colors of the inspiration as I knew I had some fun retro papers that would be perfect.  I chose a sketch from My Time Made Easy and a scripture from Word Art Wednesday.

MORE CHRISTMAS CREATIONS!

This morning I decided to work a bit on Christmas cards again.  I've got two for you to see now!  I drew inspiration from various sources.  My first creation uses a sketch from Willow Sketchie, a face for the challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy, and it has a lot of red for Moving Along with the Times.

Here's the sketch I chose:

and my card:

My next card uses jewels (the word peace) for Alphabet Challenge and the sketch from My Time Made Easy.   Both cards were done totally with pieces from my scrap basket for Use It Tuesday.

I hope you have enjoyed your little visit to Christmas.  I'll be back later with more creations!
