ANYTHING GOES WITH THE SCRAPS TO TREASURES TEAM

Welcome to the Scraps to Treasure "Anything Goes" Blog Hop.  This month the only rule for the hop is to use our scraps to create our treasures.  You should have arrived here from Cicily - www.pinkdalmatianscrapper.com. If by chance you just dropped by for a visit the complete line-up is below and you will want to be sure to start at the beginning so you don't miss out on viewing all the great creations as well as an opportunity for some blog candy.

Our hostess Robin Scott will be offering some great blog candy.  It's a Crafty Grab Bag!  That sounds like so much fun!  In order to be eligible to win you need to leave a comment on each of the participating blogs.  If you choose to follow all the blogs you will get an extra chance to win!

This is the complete line up for the hop:

Here is the entire line up in case you get lost along the way:

Here is a photo of the scraps I pulled from my pile:

I selected the color scheme from the July Colour Challenge on Life. Paper. Scrapbook.

For my first card I used all of those colors and sketch #3 from this months Scrapbook.com Card Sketch Challenge.

My first card:

My next creation was for the Kraftie Kre8tions Recipe Challenge using the following:

1. Any thing but a "plain square or rectangle" card

2. Must have 2 layers plus 1 embossed layer

3. Sentiment - Thinking of you, Get Well or Just Because

4. Must include a ribbon

5. Any other embellishment you like.

I chose to create a round monochromatic card.  I used my favorite Sizzix embossing folder, a Sizzix butterfly die and ribbon roses.

My Second card:

My final creation for this evening was another card for Kraftie Kre8tions. This was for the Sketch Challenge.

Here's the Sketch:

I opted to rotate the sketch 1/4 turn clockwise.

My Last card:

I still have enough scraps in my selected pile to create several more, but it is late and it's way past my bedtime!

I hope you have enjoyed my cards and all the other wonderful creations made totally from scraps!  And now I will send you on your way to Lucy at http://love2createitall.com/

Happy Hopping!

INDEPENDENCE DAY IS NEARLY HERE!

I love the 4th of July!  I love the history behind it.  I love the fireworks and celebrations!  Here is a layout I did for my Anything Goes challenge on Colorful Creations.  I am also entering it into the "Let Freedom Ring" challenge at Little Scrap Pieces and the Red White and Blue challenge at Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium and the Independence Day blog challenge on Kraftie Kre8tions.

I chose some photos from the 225th reenactment of George Washington's historic march out of Valley Forge that we attended in 2003.  I chose my base paper and went to work.  I used an Adirondack Paint Dauber in Snow Cap and 2 Crafters Workshop templates.  I did a bit of painting and started looking in my Patriotic embellishment stash.  I found this wonderful quote by George Washington from I swap I participated in about 10 years ago.  I embossed some red and blue cardstock and cut stars.  I added ribbon, trim, bling and some tiny sticker stars and a cute little tag also from that swap.

And here we are:

I hope you have enjoyed my first patriotic layout for this month.  I'm sure there will be more.  I have so many reenactment photos to scrap.  I just may have to go out and get more patriotic papers though as that pile surprisingly is dwindling down.  Shocking for a total paper hoarder like me...my total paper is certainly not dwindling a bit!
Thanks for stopping by!
