MOMENTS IN TIME

For tonite's challenges I decided to go with the Creative Monthly Project at Colorful Creations which called for tearing, color palette and inspiration from Color Combos Galore Board #234, and the Use Your Words challenge for August using the word 'Moment'.

Color Palette & Inspiration Board:

For this challenge you needed to use all 5 colors as well as select some inspiration from the photos.  It's hard to see the blue grey but it is part of the argyle pattern on my background paper.  I chose photo #3 for my inspiration and inked my edges and used metal embellishments.

My Layout:

The photos were taken in the workshop at Hagley.  I really enjoyed my visit to Hagley which was like a trip back in time.

FRIDAY'S FARE

Well, I survived yesterdays medical procedures and am back to creating.  My first project for today was another layout from my visit to Hagley.  I chose the Color Palette and Inspiration from Color Combos Galore #242 and sketch #38 from Sketch 'N Scrap.

The Sketch:

For this challenge you needed to use all 5 colors as well as select some inspiration from the photos.  I chose photo #2 for my inspiration and used modeling paste which I colored to match one of the colors.  I used this with a Crafters Workshop Template of bricks.  I rotated the sketch 1/4 turn clockwise.  I used gold heart brads and gold stickles for my touches of gold.  The photos are actually both postcards as you were not permitted to take photos inside the mansion.

I am also entering this layout in challenge #183 - Anything with Scallops on Kaboodle Doodles.

My Layout:

For my next layout I used sketch #40 from My Scraps and More and another post card.  I rotated the sketch 1/4 turn clockwise.  For the challenge over at The Kraft Journal I used kraft paper and layers.  I used my new basket weave embossing folder to emboss the kraft paper and inked over it with Distress Walnut Stain.

I hope you have enjoyed more from my day at Hagley.  And now it's time to call it a night.  I hope to have more for you tomorrow!

A VISIT TO ELEUTHERIAN MILLS

Part of my trip to Hagley included the Eleutherian Mills Mansion which was the home of the duPont family.

For my first layout of the home I used the Claire collection by SEI which had the absolutely perfect colors for the Color Combos Galore Color Palette challenge #230.  I used sketch with a twist challenge #3 from The Memory Nest as well as the Colorful Creations Plus Challenge calling for circles, flowers and butterflies.

Color Palette & Inspiration Board:

For this challenge you needed to use all 5 colors as well as select some inspiration from the photos.  I chose photo #3 for my inspiration and used an embossed background by Cosmo Cricket Core Impressions.  I rotated the sketch 1/4 turn clockwise and chose to use 2 photos.  (the bottom one is actually a postcard as the cars were not available for photos that day).

The Sketch & Twist:

Twist - use brads and buttons

My Layout:

My second layout uses Color Combos Galore Color Palette challenge #233 and more papers from the SEI Claire collection.  I used the August Week 1 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy and layers and buttons for the 'E' Challenge at Colorful Creations.
