STILL FEELING A LITTLE BIT LIKE CHRISTMAS - and POPCORN!

Don't know why but I must still have some holiday spirit left.  I have created 2 more Christmas cards for you.  The first is using sketch #115 from Feeling Sketchy!

I decided to turn the sketch on it's side for my card.

I created another card as well...I thought it was for a challenge over on Turtle Soup. Looking at the challenge sample I'm not so sure...

But, for your viewing pleasure here it is -

When I arrived here at the library yesterday to create my post it was snowing like crazy and they closed early so I never got my post up.  Last night I was able to create a layout so I have something else to share with you as well.

My layout uses sketch #229 from Lasting Memories Layout Challenges.  Not only did you have to use the sketch but your layout had to have something to do with food.  I chose these fun photos from the Robin's Nest crop I went to last September in Ohio.  The crop was held in a barn and it was truly a blast!  (Robin is hosting another crop in April at a hotel in the Amish country of Ohio - I can't wait to go!)

Here's the sketch -

And here is my layout!  I was lucky enough to have a seat right next to the popcorn maker too!

I wish the photo was more clear.  I of course didn't realize that until getting up here and viewing it on the computer.  On the phone it is so tiny that it looked just fine.  My time here at the library will be coming to a close shortly so I am going to hunt up a few more challenges so I can work on them tonight!

Hope that you have enjoyed my share for today!

BACK AGAIN WITH MORE FROM THE CIVIL WAR DAYS!

Today I have another layout to share from our visit to Rupp House Historical Museum in Gettysburg, PA when we were there for the 140th Reenactment of the Battle of Gettysburg back in 2003.

I used sketch #381 from Scrapbook Challenges which I somehow mistakenly thought was the current sketch...which it is not.  :(

I turned the sketch upside down to accommodate my photos.

I am also entering this in Lasting Memories challenge #224 - Captured Memories, and Soul Scrappers Movie Marathon MM8 Thelma & Louise.

For this challenge you needed to create a layout or card with this
criteria:

*   the colors blue and white must be predominant; and
*   I want you to use brads

And here is my layout:

and a close up of my brads -
Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope that you have enjoyed my latest creation.  I will have some special things to share on February 1 also so please keep coming back!

HOMECOMING!

This year my son Thomas decided to go to the High School Homecoming Dance.  The theme was Candyland.  I had just the papers to scrap this fun event.  I had bought them many years ago when we were playing board games and never got around to using them.  Sadly, the photos of the layouts are not really good because as I currently don't have a computer I have to use phone photos.  But...here are the layouts...

I was planning on using both papers together but couldn't figure out how not to lose the map parts so I decided to make that a title page and use the photo and ticket on the other page...

It's hard to see, but the page is mounted on black cardstock and of course the letters are black.  I am entering both of these pages in Sketches4All Stacy's Stash Challenge - Use Black.

The photo and ticket are mounted on black corrugated paper as well as the page being mounted on black cardstock also for that challenge.  I am going to enter this page also in Lasting Memories challenge #215 for using only one photo.

If I can get better photos I will update the page!  Thanks for stopping by.

THE CLOSE OF THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Here is my final layout for this weekend.  I created it with more of the papers from the Echo Park Times & Seasons 2 Collection.  I used Sketch #LM191 from Lasting Memories (which I rotated 1/4 turn clockwise) and a few more photos from my day at Nemours.

Here is the sketch:

and here is my layout:

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed the long weekend and remembered to take a moment to pray for our brave soldiers that gave it all for us.

AN UGLY START

The layout I am going to share next is for the Ugly Paper Challenge over at Scrapbook.com.  Every month we trade ugly papers with other members and take what they have sent and do our best to make it beautiful.

Here are the papers and embellishment I received:

I used the paper on the left as my background and I took the other one and embossed and inkied it then die cut it and combined it with the embellishment to make the layered flowers.

Here is the finished product:

I am also entering it in the Turtle Soup NSD Recipe challenge which called for using patterned paper, brads, flowers and ribbon.  The ribbon is the edge between the patterned paper and the pink cardstock (which I inked up with my favorite random stamp) and the rhinestones are brads, and in Lasting Memories challenge #189 Make Your Own Background Paper, and the Love to Create challenge #114 Say it with Flowers

I completed another layout but you can't see it now.  It's for the June sketch challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles so come back to check that out on June 1.  (but don't worry, I'll have more to share with you before then!)
