MY SATURDAY SHARE

Happy Saturday!

Today I am here to share with you one layout and one special project that I really enjoyed creating.

First for the layout. I chose Team B May Week 2 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

I rotated the sketch 1/4 turn counter clockwise.

and the layout!

with a few close-ups.

and then my stitched circles

Next up is a really fun project.  I've recently joined a Facebook group called Addicted 2 Paper Dolls. The Monthly Contest just closed.  The Theme for this month was April Showers bring May Flowers.  Of course with it being a Doll group you would create something using the theme that would include a Julie Nutting or C-thru the Woods doll stamp.

I decided I would make a small canvas. I started by using some white chalk paint that I add a few drops of re-inker to and painted my canvas.  I had a few sheets of paper, chipboard and sticker embellishments that were just perfect for the theme from an old Crate Paper collection.  I fussy cut the clouds from one of the sheets of paper and used some chipboard raindrops and flowers. I created my dolls and chose an inspirational sticker to finish it off.

and now for my close-ups...

I'm also going to enter my canvas in challenge #183 over at Word Art Wednesday.

I hope that you have enjoyed my Saturday Share. I'm off to create something new! Thanks so much for stopping by.  All comments greatly appreciated.

TWO FOR YOU!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Today I had a wonderful Mother's Day with my two sons and my future daughter-in-law (no - there are no official plans set yet but...we all know there will be...hopefully soon!)  We had a delicious brunch at IHOP and spent some time together this afternoon.

Tonight I got back to the creating I started yesterday before I got a horrid aura/occular migraine and then got a call that another special person in my life had died. All in all yesterday was a pretty awful day.  I was still not in great shape when I went to worship this morning but I think all the prayers and support followed up by a nap helped me to enjoy the special time with my children.

So back to the creating end of things...

Feeling Sketchy had 2 extra challenges
this month for NSD.

Here is the first great sketch:

NSD1

and my card -

and a few close-up shots

 One of my favorite
Martha Stewart border punches

a mix of some cute little flowers and pearls

and an awesome saying!

Here is the next fun sketch -

NSD2

and my card -

and a close-up
of a butterfly stamp with matching die
from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps.

I hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day
and my creations!

Thanks for stopping by.

Please come again soon!

ONE PLUS ONE!

Today I am going to share my last layout for the NSD challenges over at A Cherry on Top as well as a card.

First for the layout.  The challenge was Donna's Scraplift with a twist.  The instructions were to go to the gallery, to the page of your age, and select a layout to lift the design from.  then you needed to select 5 embellishments from the other layouts on the page.

Here is the layout I lifted.

The embellishments I chose were:

flower cluster
3 banner flags
buttons
white lettering
frame part of photo inside mat

MORE BUTTERFLIES!

Back in August 2013 I saw more butterflies than I had ever seen in my life before or since.  I took some amazing photos of them at Lum's Pond on August 17th and at Mount Cuba on August 30th. This layout is from photos I took at Mount Cuba.

I was inspired for the design of this layout from Shannon's Comic Book challenge over at A Cherry on Top.

Believe it or not THIS is a comic book!  They sure have come a long way since I was young.

Here is the layout I designed as inspired by that comic.  I had that paper line by American Crafts in my collection for ages.  I was so happy to find the perfect thing to use it on.  I fussy cut several parts of the paper.

And here are a few close-ups-

Two different species of butterflies feeding
on the same bush at the same time.

some cute tiny little buttons-

a few other buttons -

my favorite photo of the batch!

I hope that you have enjoyed these butterflies as much as I have.  I am also going to submit this layout to Word Art Wednesday for challenge #182 as the butterflies are such a beautiful reminder of the wonder of God's amazing creations!

A QUICK SHARE

.....before I head off to bed.

I created this layout for Brandy's NSD Recipe challenge over at A Cherry on Top.  It called for selecting items of a pizza that were then converted to scrapbooking items.

My choices were:

Crust - deep dish = cardstock and pattern paper
Sauce - marinara = use a sketch or a template
Toppings - pepperoni = bling

                  black olives = buttons
                  Italian sausage = alpha stickers
                  white onions = washi tape

The crust will be obvious.

I got my sauce over at Scrap Africa - it's their sketch #50.

Here's my take -

pepperoni & black olives

Italian sausage & white onions

I hope you have enjoyed sitting back and enjoying a slice of my pizza! The plan is to be back tomorrow with more creations for you!

All comments greatly appreciated.

MY LAST OF NSD!

Today I am sharing the last layout I got to do in celebration of National Scrapbooking Day.  I created it for The Cherry on Top's Deanna's NSD 2015 Monochromatic/Ombre challenge as well as the May 1st Challenge at Picture This! calling for 2 Photos + Black and White + Doily + Yellow.

I'm using a few more of my favorite butterfly photos
from Lum's Pond August 2013.

And a few close ups of the accents...

I just remembered that there was a layout I did for the ABC challenge over at Soul Scrappers. This month's letter is "E" and the chosen embellishment is Enamel Dots.  You also had to use a word that starts with the letter "E".

Here's my layout-

and now for a few close-ups-

this was a really great concert! It was so much fun to share the music of 'my era' with my sons.

check out these enamel dots! - I made them out of pony beads cooked in the oven.  Boy did they make some really smelly smoke!

now how's that for an "E" word?
Ethnomusicology
Do you know what it means?  As I didn't I'm going to assume you may not either...so I will tell you.

Ethnomusicology is the study of the music of different cultures.  I figured good 'ol southern rock was a great culture to start with!

And now it's back to cooking, laundry, and the other dreary details of my day today. I am planning on more creating tonite!
