FRIDAY NIGHT FUN!!! MORE FROM THE "BEE"

Last night I had another girls scrapping night with my friend Maraline and I was able to complete 2 more layouts using photos from my last trip to Ohio for the "Bee Happy Bee Scrappy" crop with Robin's Scrap Nest.

My first layout uses Make It Monday sketch #49
from The Memory Nest.

and my layout -
These photos were from a tag class with
 Shannon Commerford Wroblewski.

and a close-up-

and close-ups-
Robin always makes the most amazing name badges
for her crops!  So much detail!

Don't you love this bee?  I used them on my ATC cards and had so many left over that I have been using them on a lot of the layouts from this crop!

I hope you have enjoyed a bit more from my trip.  There will soon be a page that will come before this last one chronologically that will show you why Robin was crying.

Have an awesome weekend!

YES...BACK TO THE BARN FOR THE LAST FEW PAGES!

Today I am going to share two pages that were completed last night.  I probably will have two more pages and the entire album of the trip will finally be complete!  Then I will be able to get started on my second trip to Ohio that was this past April.  There was nearly a third trip in July but a migraine that ended me up in the ER had my doctors give me a strict no on the long solo drive.

The first page was a "Scraplift" for the 9/3 challenge at Turtle Soup.

Here is the page we needed to 'lift' from-

and here is my layout -

along with a few close ups-

The other layout uses the September 1 sketch from over at Stuck?!Sketches.

and my layout -

 and a few close-ups-

I'm going to draw this post to an abrupt close as tonight I am taking my son to see the Steve Miller Band and the Doobie Brothers and it's time to get our acts together.

Hope that you have enjoyed this share.  The 'Barn' trip (Rivercrest Farm) book is nearly complete.  I think there will probably be 2 more layouts and done!

BUSY! BUSY! BUSY!

Now for more pages from the wedding album.

I did so much so fast that I did not stay organized with what they were for and I am really paying the price now trying to back track and figure things out.  I would have been so much better off if I had kept a list rather than counting on the tabs to still be open on my computer...but...I have never been good at making lists or using them...so I will just do my best.

Here I used the August 15 sketch from over at Stuck?! Sketches-

I opted to rotate it 1/4 turn to the left.

and a close-up of a bit of the stitching!-

Next from Let's Get Sketchy August Week 4

and mine-

I am having such a tough time locating everything I worked from...hopefully by the end of the day I will be able to make a bit more sense of things!

I hope you have enjoyed viewing a few more pages from the wedding album.'

Please leave a comment letting me know you were here and what you thought about what you saw!

A SNEAK PEAK FROM THE WEDDING BOOK!

At the end of the month a very special friend of ours is getting married.  I am so looking forward to the wedding and especially to giving her this book I am working on.  So far, I have the title page and 3 other pages...so that is 4 out of 20...so I am 1/5 of the way through!

I was going to share all 4 of them with you today but decided that I am only going to share the one that has a current challenge in it and save the others to share when the whole book is completed and after it is gifted.

This page was created using the August 1 sketch from Stuck?!Sketches.

and a few close-ups-
a space for each of them to journal what they first thought of each other when they met...

a space for a photo of each of them, possibly from around the time they met...

and a bit of fun stitching - do you like it?

Stay tuned over the next few weeks for more from this special gift I am working on...

Thanks so much for stopping by.  All comments are greatly appreciated.

IT'S LOOKING A LITTLE BIT LIKE CHRISTMAS!

I started my first Christmas 2014 layouts with this sketch from Stuck?!Sketches.

I chose the quote 'tis the season to be jolly' for QC44 over at Soul Scrappers.

and I created the double circles in the layout with some twine for Sketches4All Stacy H-W Stash Challenge

Here is my layout -

And here are a few more close-ups of some of the other details for your viewing -

and here is my son sporting the hat I made for him - over December I got very little paper crafting done as I was busy with Loom Knitting...one of my latest hobbies!

Thanks for stopping by.  I will have lots more of Christmas to share as well as getting back to our 2003 Civil War Re-enactment photos!

A FEW NEW CREATIONS FOR THE NEW YEAR!

Welcome back to my creative space.  Today I am going to share a few cards and a layout that I created the other day.

Both cards are for Soul Scrappers challenge #CC36, Snow or Sun.  The challenge was to create a card with snow or sun in mind.  I did one of each.

My first one for snow:

I just loved the snowflake paper from the Graphic 45 Nutcracker collection and those cute little penguins and polar bear - who could resist them right?  I am also going to share this card over at Word Art Wednesday for challenge #164 Anything Goes.

And now for my sunny day card -

While I was in Ohio back in September we went to a wonderful specialty stamping shop and I picked up this template to create a flip-flop card.  That of course is how this started out but...I am terrible with that scoring tool and ended up slicing one of the feet right off.  Rather than just waste it I decided to use it a different way.  On my way home from Ohio I discovered my very first Hobby Lobby store.  I had picked up some great clear stickers and resins there and I thought this sentiment would be perfect for the feel of the card.

Last I created a monochromatic layout for this weeks challenge at Let's Get Sketchy.  I used the January sketch from Stuck?!Sketches

Here's the sketch:

I chose to rotate the sketch 1/4 turn clockwise to accommodate my photos.  This is the first page of a series showing my son Thomas getting his first tattoo.  Normally I would have not allowed him to get one at such a young age (16) but his father died in August and this was in memory of his Dad for the many good times they spent fishing together.

Here is my layout:

I can't tell you how many photos I took trying to get a really good shot of this page and I am still not happy.  The close ups which I will share were much better and you can see the true colors in them.

Having to share my creations from the computer at the library makes it difficult to know what the photos look like full size as I only get to see them on my phone before arriving.  I will try to get some better photos to share of this page and replace these tomorrow!

I hope 2015 is off to a good start for you!  I realized that 2014 was not a stellar year for creating for me only having done 6 art journal pages and a much smaller number of layouts and cards than I usually do.  I hope to get back on track creatively and have much more to share with you this year!

As always, comments are greatly appreciated and thanks for stopping by!

THE RESIDENTS OF RIVERCREST FARM

Today I am going to share with you two layouts I did of the cute little residents of Rivercrest Farm where I went for my crop in September.

My first layout uses the December 1st sketch from over at Stuck?!Sketches.  They are also having a call for Guest Designers so I think I would like to toss my hat in the ring for a spot as well as entering in the challenge.

Here is the sketch.

And here is my layout:

My next layout uses Make It Monday #30 from The Memory Nest.  The sketch also calls for some stamping on the background.

And here is my layout:

Here is a close up of my stamping!

I hope that you have enjoyed meeting some of my fun friends from the Farm!

Enjoy your weekend!
