Almost time

for bed.

I made two easy cards tonight and it's already getting to be the time to head off to bed so I'll share them now.  The first, a funny for Thanksgiving is for the Kaboodle Doodle's Fall theme challenge.

The card:

the funny part is the sentiment on the inside which reads "Gobble til you Wobble".

The next one has lots of layers for Love to Create and uses a sketch from My Time Made Easy.

The sketch:

The card:

The sentiment inside this one reads "May all your Dreams come true"

And now...it's time to say good nite!  Thanks for stopping by.  Please check back again tomorrow for more!

ONE MORE QUICK POST

before heading off to bed.  I'd wait until the morning but not knowing if we will have power or not I figured I had best do it now.

My last card for the evening is for Word Art Wednesday.  It is an anything goes week and the scripture of the week is Matthew 6:21 "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also".

Here is my card:

Hope you are safe and dry and have enjoyed taking a peek at my card.  Sweet dreams.

SANDY HITS GROUND

but so far we are doing ok and still have power.  I have been working away on a few Christmas cards and decided it was time to share them in case we do have an outtage.

My first card was for a challenge over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp.

Here's the sketch:

and my card:

Card number 2 is for Always Playing with Paper's Merry Monday challenge, also a sketch.

Card #2:

and last of all is a square card for Mojo Monday.

Card #3:

Hope that you are warm and dry and still have power too.  I may create a bit more before heading off to bed power permitting...  until then...

DARE TO BE...

TRULY REMARKABLE!

I wanted to get my Paper Secrets CYAO post up before the impending storm possibly takes my power down.  This weeks card was done using Mojo Monday's sketch and 3 of the following items:

*lace  *handmade ribbon flower *border punch
*dry embossing *stickles/liquid pearls  *metal

For my card I chose to use lace, dry embossing and metal.  I had these great little metal charms so I chose one that read 'live life with no regrets' and then I chose a stamp that I felt went well with it reading 'Dare to be truly remarkable'.

here is the sketch:

and here is my card:

For those of you in the path of the storm stay safe, stay warm and dry and hopefully we will not lose power.

OFF TO THE RACES!

Here's a layout with some photos from December 1998.  The For the Boys challenge over at Colorful Creations this month was to use something with boys and cars.  I was trying to figure out what pictures I might have when I remembered these and was able to locate them.  This was a super race set that took up nearly half of the living room floor.  I went with a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy to put it all together.

The sketch:

Hope you have enjoyed this race back in time.

Tis the Season....

well, not yet but it's starting to get close.  Here is another little Christmas card I made using a Merry Monday sketch from Always Playing with Paper.

Here is the sketch:

and my card:

Hope you enjoyed this sweet little treat.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Just a card before I sleep...

I managed to sneak in one card tonight after spending hours on the phone with tech support trying to get my printer fixed.  I used orange, papers from my scrap basket and a velvet ribbon I've had forever for Use it Tuesday, Thankful for Scrappy Moms and a sketch from There She Goes.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

and now I'm off to bed.  Sweet dreams to all.  Thanks for stopping by.

A SPECIAL BLESSING

I created tonight's card for a special reason.  There is a Godly woman named Beth that  has terminal stage four inflammatory breast cancer.  I read about her on the blog of Tami Mayberry, who is doing a drive for cards in her honor.  You can read all of the information here.  I was very touched by her story and I'm sure you will be too.

I created the card using this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

and am also using it in a challenge at Colorful Creations calling for using the word 'blessings'.

My card:

I am praying that God's blessings of peace and comfort will be with Beth (and her family) for all her days.

I hope that if you have a minute you will stop and say a little prayer for Beth.

Thank you for stopping by.

MORE FROM THOMAS' 14TH BIRTHDAY

First up is a page I did of our dinner at Red Robin on Saturday.  I used this layout for a challenge on Colorful Creations called Use Your Stash which called for using certain items.  The items were combining a couple of pattern papers (2), getting some lace, buttons, glitter and felt and a punched border.

My layout:

Thomas has been listening to some ICP and has become a fan of Faygo soda pop and wanted this fun hat which is form one of their album covers.  For this layout I used a sketch from Sketch Inspiration.

Here is the sketch:

and my layout:

and finally for tonight a picture of Thomas with me!  For this layout I used a sketch from Sketches in Thyme which I rotated to accommodate my photo.

Here is the sketch:

and my layout:

Hope that you have enjoyed a bit more of our festivities for Thomas.  More to follow as he opens more presents and we have our final celebration dinner at TGIF.  And now it's time to say good nite!  Thanks for stopping by.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THERESA!

Tonight I have a card to share with you made to celebrate a very special birthday.  Theresa from Tuesday Morning Sketches is turning 50!  Besides that being a super important birthday there is something far more important.  5 years ago Theresa was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  She is now 5 years cancer free and is officially a SURVIVOR!  I created this using an old Mojo Monday sketch and some fun pink papers and birthday diecuts - and some satin ribbon and pearls!

So here's to you Theresa!  Happy happy birthday and congratulations on remaining cancer free.

and my card:

Coming up soon more from Thomas' 14th Birthday so stop back again!

The Birthday Surprise

This year my youngest son turned 14.  He had an awesome birthday celebration as his birthday fell on a Sunday but he had off from school on Friday so we did something for his birthday everyday all weekend.  Friday morning started off with breakfast at IHOP and was followed up with a new bicycle.

I used this week's guest designer sketch at Colorful Creations which I rotated to accommodate the photo.

Here is the sketch:

Here is Thomas enjoying his birthday breakfast!

The next page was done using Sketches in Thyme sketch #89.

The sketch:

and here is Thomas taking off on his new bike-

I'm sure over the next few days you will get to see him enjoying dinners at Red Robin and TGIF as well as enjoying cake from DQ and opening and enjoying some presents.

And now I'm off to bed!  Sweet dreams all!

TIME FOR CYAO!

Here is this week's Paper Secrets CYAO challenge.  We begin with a sketch by Mojo Monday and then need to include 3 of the following:
washi tape
handmade ribbon flower
border punch
dry embossing
hand/machine stitching
kraft paper

Here is the sketch:

I ended up throwing an extra ingredient in for good measure as I forgot to count the kraft paper.  My items were washi tape, border punch, dry embossing and kraft paper.

Here is my card:

Hope you have enjoyed stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

SCRAPS TO TREASURES TAG SWAP

Welcome to the Scraps to Treasure Team's Christmas Tag Swap Hop!  You should have arrived here from Tahi at http://tahisscrapcorner.blogspot.com.  If by chance you were just stopping by my blog to say hi you may want to go back to  Ellen at http://cardmonkeyspaperjungle.com/ to start out the hop from the beginning.

Our goal on the Scraps to Treasure Team is to make use of all those scraps of paper leftover from layouts and cardmaking and other paper projects.  Today's hop will include 12 stops where you will get to see an assortment of Christmas Tags.  The instructions were to use scraps, paint, ink and whatever else you have around to make 12 tags which we will then swap with each other.

We have a special present for you: Two lucky hoppers will win a set of tags that were featured in this hop! To be eligible to win, you need to leave a comment on EACH blog stop in the hop.

To start I chose one of my Sizzix Tag Dies.  Next I invaded my scrap basket and found some festive larger sized scraps and cut them out.  After this I found some white pages that were taken out of my art journal when the binding started to break - also now scraps.  I picked out two stamp sets - one for the 'to and from' and the other for some Christmas images.  I stamped and colored and then I cut them with a circle punch.  I edged everything with ink and added some ribbon or fibers to match.  Done!

And here they are:

Here is the line-up for the hop:

WITH SYMPATHY...

It has been a sad week this week.  The husband of one of my online friends passed away after a long illness just when they discovered what was causing the illness and we expected him to recover and my next door neighbor died suddenly and unexpectedly of a massive heart attack.  So tonight I have been working on my sympathy cards...

The first uses a sketch by Tuesday Morning Sketches.
