AUTUMN

Here is a layout I created last night.  I started out using sketch #24 from 2 Broke Girls.  I used 3 types of embellishments that start with B (Borders, buttons and brads) for challenge #157 at the Crazy Challenge and the theme of Autumn for The Theme Park challenge on Colorful Creations.

HERE I AM ENCHANTED...

I finally completed this layout this morning.  Lately it has been taking me forever to complete a layout.  And, I've been using Stickles which I NEVER do which take so long to dry that it seems even longer!  It just seemed to me that the Enchanted Woods and Faeries needed to sparkle.

This layout was done with 2 Broke Girls Sketch 23 which I rotated 1/4 turn clockwise.

I used elements for the "E" Challenge over at Colorful Creations which I lifted from this layout.

The elements I used from this were doily, buttons and a key.

STILL A BIT OUT OF WHACK...

I am in day 11 of a horrid head cold - well actually as I saw the doctor today it has been officially upgraded to a bad case of sinusitis.  It really has taken a toll on my mojo.  I finally was able to get this layout done that I have been pondering for 2 days.  Sadly that is all I have to share tonite.  I created it for the Colorful Creations September Song Challenge - inspired by the song 'It Will Be Me' performed by Faith Hill.  As you know, I had a truly difficult year (yes, it all started last October so it has been a whole year...).  When I read the lyrics of the song Libby chose for this month I knew I would not only choose a word or two or a phrase but that I had to use the entire song on my layout.  It spoke to my heart about how Michael has been so good to me through all the ups and downs there have been this year.  

I used sketch #22 from 2 Broke Girls Scrap, which I rotated 1/4 turn clockwise and shifted a bit to the left.

I am also going to enter this in Word Art Wednesday Challenge #100 - Praise the Lord.  No matter how poorly I am feeling there are always so many reasons to Praise the Lord!  It is in His almighty strength that I have made it through all the health challenges I have and continue to face this year, He brought me to a wonderful new place to live in Delaware and gave me a wonderful new church and church family, He gave Michael the strength to be so supportive of me through all I have been going through, of course my two wonderful (but very messy!) sons and so so very much more.

MOJO SUNDAY

The mojo was finally flowing yesterday and I was able to create these three layouts from my day at Rockwood Mansion and Park.  They all used sketches from the 2 Broke Girls Spice and Sugar Sketch-a-Thon.

For this layout I was also inspired by Colorful Creations Favorite Things challenge which was to use a new supply that I have been hanging onto but have not yet used.  I chose to try out Gelatos and used a Crafters Workshop template that I had not yet used.  Wow were they fun!  I am going to be using them again really soon!

A SHORT VISIT TO THE DELAWARE ART MUSEUM

The day I chose to go to Nemours Mansion my reservation times got mixed up and I had over a 2 hour wait for the next full tour so I took a ride over to the Delaware Art Museum.  The first page has a collage of photos from the outdoor Copeland Sculpture Garden.  The collage on the second page shows some pictures I took in the upstairs gallery.  Several of the photos are from a mixed media piece that I found fascinating.  It was called 'The Queens Closet'.  It was a beaded cabinet having a compartment for each of the wives of Henry VIII.  The detail was absolutely incredible.  

For the outdoor collage I chose sketch #9 from 2 Broke Girls Spice and Sugar Sketch-a-Thon.
