WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO...

It has been so hectic the last few days that I have not had the chance to post so here finally is what I have been up to.

First was a card I made for the youth group to give to Pastor for Pastor Appreciation Month along with the cake that they baked for her.

I used pink and grey for the October Color Challenge at Scrapbook.com, 2 different embossing folders for challenge #122 at Shopping Our Stash, and sketch # 2 rotated 1/4 turn clockwise from Scrapbook.com October Card Sketch.

Next is a layout of my son Thomas from Boyscout Summer Camp this past summer.  I used the Guest Designer Sketch from Colorful Creations.

And finally another layout - this one of me and Michael last week at the Gazebo at my apartment complex.  For this I used Sketch October Week 4 from Let's Get Sketchy and Halloween range papers for a non-Halloween layout.

I hope that you have enjoyed viewing these creations and will come back again soon.  I'm off to create something else!

SCRAPS TO TREASURE TEAM'S MONOCHROMATIC HOP!

Hi!  This is Paula and I will be your hostess this month.  I want to welcome you to the Scraps To Treasure Team's Monochromatic Blog Hop.  Our goal at STT is to use up all our scraps and leftover embellishments to create wonderful layouts, cards and other projects.  This month we are doing that using different shades of only one color.

Up for grabs is this RAK from me going out to one lucky hopper that is a follower of all the blogs in the hop and has left a comment for each entry.

Included in the RAK are:

10 My Mind's Eye Laundry Line Diecuts
2 Basic Grey Bling It On Rubons and Rhinestones
  2 Glitz Frosting Bling
  1 Martha Stewart Glitter Alphas
  1 EK Success Inspirables Embellishments
  1 Special Moments Embellishments
  1 Treasured Memories Metal Tags

For my entry I opted to create a card using one of my favorite colors - PINK!  I started out by using this sketch from the Colorful Creations Sketch-a-Thon May 14th

I have also entered this card in Whoopsi Daisy Pretty In Pink challenge and the Use it Tuesday challenge #55 for using some hoarded supplies.  I used scraps of paper and pink rhinestones that I have had for at least 2-3 years.  I also am entering it in Shopping Our Stash challenge #101 Scrap Attack for using only scraps.

I hope that you have enjoyed stopping by and seeing this creation and now you are ready to move through the following blogs and view more great monochromatic creations.

Here's a simple card that I am entering in the following three challenges:

I started with a card base that I covered with a piece of green patterned paper.  I added to it some diecuts that have been in my stash probably for 8 or so years.  There are three candles.

Here's my card:

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope to have a bit more creating done later but not sure as I have a meeting to attend at church.  Away I go!

Tonight I am bringing you a trio of Christmas cards all made with a Christmas Collection of paper from my stash that I got at a wonderful bargain from The Scenic Route when they were closing up shop.  I am entering them in the Shopping Our Stash challenge this week which was to use stash that we had to buy it because we got such a great deal on it.

My first card uses the sketch from Always Playing with Paper Merry Monday challenge.  I am also entering it in the Kaboodle Doodle Anything Goes for this week.

NOW EVEN TOUGHER!

I didn't think the challenges could get much harder on Paper Secrets CYAO challenge but this weeks took a lot of searching for needed materials.  Fortunately I have a large stash and just needed to make a few modifications.  The challenge was to use the Mojo Monday sketch but to include 3 of the following:
2" wide ribbon
handmade pinwheel
heat embossed background stamp
doily
raw unpainted chipboard alphas
clothespin

I have a great background stamp and some gold embossing powder, and the shape had to be square or round and the only square cards with envelopes I have are red so that narrowed things down a bit.  I knew I had some wide ribbon but discovered that most of it was not wide enough and a few were too wide.  I opted to cut down the too wide to the 2" requirement so I am now down to my last choice.  I went in search of my chipboard and tried to think of how I would use it.  I thought about a monogram - but for what or whom?  Then I searched out letters and found that NOEL would fit so now I am ready to create.  I also had a chipboard square that I thought went well with the design.  I wanted to put something inside of it and had some real searching to do.  After trying several things I discovered this little red cardinal on a circle.  This worked perfectly and would also meet another challenge over at Shopping Our Stash who has a challenge to use an animal or bird on our card for this week.

Here is the sketch:

and here is my creation:

Not sure if I will get to more creating this weekend as it is Michael's birthday but if I do I'll be sure to post!  Hope that you have enjoyed stopping by.  Have a great weekend!
