BACK TO THE BEACH

Tonight I have another layout to share from my summer visits to Cape Henlopen.  My son and I had such a good time going there this summer.  There is a beautiful beach and lots of dunes and a lighthouse and just so much natural beauty.  I am not big on camping but they do have camping spots there and I may consider it for a night next summer as my younger son absolutely loves camping.  (I will do that if I survive camping for CreationFest Northeast in June!) Last year that was my introduction to the world of camping and at my age it is not something you start on a one inch yoga mat on rocky ground!

I used the sketch from Stuck!Sketches for their November 1st GDT call again.  I used it the other day and I rarely repeat sketches but I really liked this one and I needed a 3 photo sketch and this one was perfect...and this time I rotated it.

Here's the sketch:

and here is my layout:

Some of the fun features of this page are my favorite Martha Stewart Border punch which I edged with twill ribbon.

I really liked the mermaid from a pack of Creative Imaginations embellishments and I pop-dotted her as well as a few shells to give the page a bit more texture.

I took several photos on the trips we made there so you will get to see a lot more of the beach probably over the winter while I am wishing for brighter warmer days!

I am also going to share this layout over at Word Art Wednesday for Anything Goes #159.

Thanksgiving is nearly here.  My younger son and I are going to visit my step-family in Carlisle Pennsylvania and are hoping that the weather report which calls for snow is going to turn out to be incorrect.  This is the only time we usually get to see them during the year and have been looking forward to it.

May you and your families and friends have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving and be able to share your gratitude to God for all that you have and to remember in prayer all those that are less fortunate and may not have a warm place to enjoy a delicious meal.

Thanks again for stopping by!

MORE FROM THE LAST HURRAH!

My layout today is from the last photos I took as I left Cape Henlopen for the last time this summer. I created it using The Memory Nest Make It Monday #27 sketch.

The Sketch:

I chose to rotate the sketch 1/4 turn clockwise.

And My Layout:

I just realized that as I was looking at the sketch online I did not see the tiny line about the twist of adding a stitched element.  I think I can enter it without the twist but maybe I will do a bit of stitching when I get home...of course, I am still computer-less and posting here at the library.

Hope that you have enjoyed this peaceful photo from my last trip to Cape Henlopen.

I will have other layouts from that day and other trips there coming soon...at least that is the plan!  LOL.  I also have photos from my trip to Ohio to scrap.  So many photos so little time!

LAST HURRAH OF SUMMER!

Last night I did another quick little layout from a sketch from the fun site Let's Get Sketchy!  It was the October Team A week 1 sketch shown below.

For my layout I rotated the sketch 1/4 turn clockwise.

I really enjoyed the little extras I used on here...the title has a few layers on pop dots for dimension and I finally got some burlap that everyone has been using plus a wonderful fabric canvas ribbon.

Today is the last day for October challenges but be sure to check out Let's Get Sketchy tomorrow for a new reveal!

A BIT FROM WOMEN OF FAITH

Last night I completed another layout from last years Women of Faith conference.  I better hurry because this years is only a few weeks away!

I used vellum for the challenges at Soul Scrappers and at Sketches4all  using the first sketch from August at Let's Get Sketchy.

Here is my page of Lisa Harper.  The conference was wonderful and I am looking forward to volunteering at this year's conference in a few weeks in Philadelphia.

Also, some dear friends from church were moving to Nashville to be closer to their children and Grandchildren as they are struggling healthwise. Here is the going away card I made for them.

I am entering my card in Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge #144.

I was hoping to get to some creating tonite but it is already getting late as I spent the whole day at Cape Henlopen with my son and just got home a short while ago...so my creative energies today went into a tad of photos which you will see in the near future.

Thanks for stopping by.  It is so good to get back up and running again.
