TIME FOR PRESENTS!! AND HOPE!!

Today I am going to start off by sharing another layout from my eldset son Robert's birthday.  I used Let's Get Sketchy Team B September Week 4 sketch.

Here he is opening one of his presents!

and here are a few close-ups!

 Lot's of fun stitching!

great 3D embellishments from Paper House!

The other project I'm sharing is a very simple canvas I made for a friend that is struggling very badly with chronic pain from surgery gone bad and other health complications.

I started with a 5x7 canvas that I covered with a layer of black gesso.  I applied it using an old credit card so that there would be a bit of texture.  Next I took one of the photos I had from that spectacular double rainbow that I saw this summer.  The rainbow is a promise from God.  I mounted it on a bit of purple cardstock and attached it to the canvas.  Finally I added an acrylic sticker that says "Never give up hope".  I thought that was a good sentiment to encourage her combined with the rainbow making it a promise from God that she should count on when she is feeling doubt and pain.

I am going to share my canvas in challenge #203 - Anything Goes over at Word Art Wednesday.

I hope that you have enjoyed these and now I am going to publish and head back to creating so I will have something to share with you tomorrow!

Please leave a comment to let me know that you stopped by and what you thought of what I created!

SOME THINGS ARE JUST BETTER RICH.,.,.

Today I am here to share another fun
Julie Nutting Doll tag in the
Coffee Loving Cardmakers Fall Blog Hop.

This is Rita...She is Julie's Decade Doll of the 1940's.  She seemed so elegant to me that I thought this fun saying was just perfect to use with her -

CHOCOLATE
MEN
COFFEE
SOME THINGS ARE BETTER
RICH

And here is my tag!

I have been having so much fun playing with these dolls!  Brings me back to my childhood when every month I would look forward to cutting out Betsy McCall and another outfit from my Mom's McCalls Magazine.

I hope that you have enjoyed seeing them as much as I have enjoyed creating them.

(I know the other night I left you wondering if I would create another card, a layout or a doll.  Well...it was a layout... but you won't get to see that until it makes it's preview over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles October 1 challenges!)

JOIN ME FOR A CUP....

Today I am going to share a few more fun coffee/tea projects...

The first is using Freshly Made Sketches #205.  It was a fun easy sketch to use and I had a cute little stamp from Sweet 'N Sassy that was perfect for the theme.

Here's the sketch -

Here's my card -

And a few close ups-

I coated the cup with crackle medium in the hopes that it would look like an old tea cup...

My next card uses Mojo Monday
#417 - Tall & Skinny.

The fun part about the Tall & Skinny challenge is that the card is big enough to use a Julie Nutting Doll stamp.  I chose the doll based on the coffee saying I decided to use -

SAVE THE EARTH
It's the only planet with coffee.

I thought that sounded like a fun 'hippy' kind of saying so I chose Jill the 1960s Decade Doll.

the fun saying

and some great 'go-go' boots!

(and as you can see I used some awesome tie-dyed paper from my DCWV Stack.)

I am also sharing these in the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers.  There are some great projects and some amazing prizes - you really should check out this fun hop!

Now, I'm hoping to get a bit more creating done - either another layout from Robert's birthday or another Julie Nutting Doll tag.

I hope that you will come back and see!

BIRTHDAYS AT THE BEE CROP!!! AND WELCOME FALL!!!

Back in April I went to another awesome crop sponsored by Robin's Scrap Nest.  This was in the Amish country in Ohio.  It was beautiful and I made even more new friends.  It is really a fabulous friendly and creative group.

The crop ended on the day before my birthday so I spent my actual birthday driving 10 hours home...but the day before I was able to celebrate at the crop with some of the other gals who shared the same birth week as me!

Here is a layout of the April Bee Birthdays!

In order to create it I used some inspiration from challenge #329 over at Cupcake Inspirations.

and Let's Get Sketchy September Team A Week 3 sketch -

Here is my layout -

and a few close ups!

AND NOW FOR MY FALL PROJECT -

I created a tag using two of my Julie Nutting Doll stamps.  The girl is Giulia and the other is her little dog who is loving to play in the leaves!

and some close-ups!

I am entering this tag in Pile It On Challenge #87 - Color Combo.

and I was also inspired by Thrifty Thursday over at Addicted 2 Paper Dolls!

I am also entering it at Blessings Ink Amusing Challenge 22 - Anything Goes.

I was so excited to actually get more creating done today than I have in a long long time.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing them.

AND NOW IT'S TIME TO BLOW OUT THE CANDLES, MAKE A WISH AND CUT THE CAKE!

Robert's 22nd birthday page 2...

For this page I selected the September 15th sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.

So here' s the sketch -

Here's my layout -

It's time to...

Paper House embellishments!

COME FOR COFFEE!!

Today I have a fun tag to share!

I had gotten these cute little wood embellishments (by Prima) that focus on coffee.

I also had these fun stickers about coffee
by Hampton Arts that I thought
would be fun to use on the tag.

It's a bit hard to read in the photo

but here is what it has to say -

Coffee...helping people do stupid things
 faster with more energy!

This is Audrey.  She is from the
Julie Nutting Decade Doll stamps series.
 Audrey is from the 1950's.
I thought she would be perfect for this theme!

I am entering this tag in:

Word Art Wednesday challenge #202 -
Anything Goes

Whoopsie Daisy 9/7 challenge -
Add embellishments

with this color combo

and besides - what goes perfect with cupcakes - coffee!!

I just found out from a friend that there is a new group for Coffee Loving Cardmakers!  I am going to enter my tag there too!

I hope you have enjoyed stopping by and having a cup of coffee with Audrey and me!

A BIRTHDAY FOR A SPECIAL FRIEND!

Today I am going to share a gift I created for the birthday of a special friend. I created a personalized card and my second attempt at 'jewelry making' - a brithday bracelet.

First for the card -

And now for the close-ups!

This is Julie Nutting's doll stamp Marisol - but in order to make her look like Adriane I had to make a modification to the hairline to remove the bangs.  I also played around with some of the dress stamps for her outfit!

and the simple inside!

and a decorated gift bag
and tissues to wrap it with!

and now for the present -

and the close ups of the
cute little birthday charms!

I hope that you have enjoyed getting to see my gift.  I am going to share over at Word Art Wednesday for Challenge #200 and at 2 Creative Chicks for the Anything goes Showcase #2.
