PUTTING APRIL TO BED

I have one last layout to share with you for the month of April.  I used a sketch from The Memory Nest and it is Girls Only and Monochrome Color #2 for Scrapbook.com

Here's the sketch:

And here is the color:

There really isn't anything on this layout that I've never done and there isn't anything out of my comfort zone so no twist but the sketch was great as I was able to use 5 photos!  I have so many photos from my day at Winterthur so that is a plus.

Here's my layout:

Thanks for stopping by.  And don't forget - THIS Saturday is National Scrapbook Day.  At this point, the plan is to be scrapping all weekend...hopefully that will happen and I will have lots to share.

MORE FROM WINTERTHUR

I have a few layouts to share with you this evening.  The first one has been entered in Scrapbook.com Spruce up your Background Paper.  I had a plain sheet of grey cardstock and I sprinkled and smeared distress reinkers.

The next layout is for Scrapbook.com April 4 Categories - Technique 3 which called for using this sketch and altering it in some way.

My changes included adding bling all over and not using a title, sub-title or journaling.

I am also entering this in Sketches4All April Stash Challenge which calls for using flowers and bling.

My last one is using the sketch from Sketches4All April Sketch challenge.  I rotated the sketch 1/4 turn clockwise and used three photos instead of two.

I am also entering it in Scrapbook.com April Four Categories - Category One - Product - Vellum.

I hope you have enjoyed these and will continue to stop by my blog to see more of my wonderful day touring Winterthur.

WELCOME TO WINTERTHUR

The layout I am going to share with you today starts off my day at Winterthur.  This is another of the DuPont mansions/museums in Delaware that I visited last summer.  To create it I started with April sketch #1 from Let's Get Sketchy.

I seem to be working a lot with shades of navy and blue.

Here is my layout:

I have a huge stack of photos from that day so watch for more of your private tour of Winterthur to follow right here on Precious Pages by Paula!

AT THE START OF SPRING

I am still scrapping the start of winter!  LOL!  I finally found the envelope of photos with the first snowfall of the season in it.  I went into my winter stash and picked out some paper and embellishments and got to work..

I started with a navy backing sheet to match the page that will go across from this one.  There was a really pretty SEI patterned paper of snow and trees that I decided would be perfect as it would pull the two pages together.  I had a great vellum quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, some snowflake stickers, a title sticker from an Echo Park sheet and a Jack Frost puffy sticker that coordinates with the ones on the other page.

And here it is:

I am entering this in the 3 Scrappy Boys Spring 2014 Crop First Challenge which calls for using stash that is at least one year old for this layout. The only new item on the page is the photos!  I suspect that most of the supplies used go way beyond one year old!  I am a terrible scrap supply hoarder!

I am also entering this in Scrapbook.com April Monochrome Aquadoodle and Scrapbook.com April Boys Only.

Hope you all are enjoying a peaceful and blessed Easter.

Thanks for stopping by.

AND ANOTHER TWO

For today's post I have one Easter card which I made last night and one Sympathy card which I made this morning.  The Easter card uses a border punch to make the background.  I cut strips of coordinating paper and used the punch and then adhered them closely together.  I topped it off with a title sticker and a circle punch with a stamped cross.

Here it is:

I entered this in the Spring is in the Air challenge #4 at Sketches4All calling for distressing or punching.  All of my edges were distressed with ink and as I mentioned above the background is made with a border punch.

I am also entering this in the Easter challenge #84 at Sugar Creek Hollow.

This morning I found out that an old high school classmate and former neighbor lost his Mom.  I put together this Sympathy card.  I am entering this in Word Art Wednesday Challenge # 128 Anything Goes.

Here is my card:

I hope to complete 2 more Easter cards for my church to get mailed in the morning so I will post those tomorrow!

Thanks so much for stopping by to view my creations.  Have a great weekend, a Happy Passover and a Happy Easter.

Yesterday I completed two more cards for the shut-ins at my church.  So far I haven't gotten to any today as I worked today and tonite I went to an outstanding event called Via Doloroso - the story of Christ from the Last Supper to the Crucifiction.  If you ever get to attend one I would highly recommend it.  It was very powerful.  I also still have not completed all of my taxes so I have to get back to work at that.

The first used the sketch #215 from Sweet Sketch Sunday

.

I used polka dots and stripes (and Easter eggs) for challenge 214 - Easter Sweetness over at The Shabby Tea Room, Easter eggs for challenge  #C4C231at Crazy4Challenges Get your Egg on!, challenge TPE246 Easter at The Pink Elephant, and Spring is in the Air challenge #1 using layers over at Sketches4All.

THE FIRST FEW

My first card today is a Sympathy card for a friend who recently lost her Dad. I used some velvet SEI paper, one of my favorite Sizzlet Embosslets and a new embossing folder.  I traced the embossing with a black glitter gel pen to bring out the sentiment and the edge.  I am going to enter this at Word Art Wednesday challenge #127 Anything Goes.

Here it is!

I feel bad.  I'm at that age where friends are losing parents and spouses.  I make cards all the time but never think to make Sympathy cards - they are always birthday cards, christmas cards, thank you cards, get well etc.

My next card uses Mojo Monday sketch #340.

The sketch:

I am also entering this card at Sketches4All Spring is in the Air challenge #6 which called for using at least 3 of these colors:

ALL FRAMED UP BY THE KRAZY CRAFTING CREW

Welcome to our ALL FRAMED UP BLOG HOP brought to you by our Krazy Crafting Crew.

We are an independent hop team that enjoys sharing our work with everyone and we hope to inspire you with new ideas for your
own creativity.

We are a team who loves to do all different themes, such as cards, layouts, 3D projects and so much more. We do all the paper crafting from traditional to digital. Mostly traditional, plus every now and then there may be a little mixed media too!

Now on to some fun.

Here is the project that I have created for today’s hop -

I started out with two plain black wooden frames I picked up at the local dollar store.

I took out 6 rolls of coordinated Washi Tape that I had just waiting for a project.  3 of them were wide and 3 were narrow.

The first one I did I used the narrow tapes and I placed them in various random ways and sizes around the whole frame.  This turned out to be much more time consuming than I expected.  The frames came with photo mats so I popped them out and used the wide tapes to decorate the mat this time using a pattern which went much faster.

The second frame I did with the wider tapes on the frame in a specific pattern and the mat with the narrow tapes also in a pattern.  These went much faster!

Our hostess today is Cicily at Pink Dalmation Scrapper. For Blog Candy her  sponsor is Scrapbook Generation.

1 BEAUTIFUL DAY AT LUM'S POND

I did it!  I completed all the Scrap Our Stash Stash-a-Thon challenges.  This is challenge #14 First Birthday which called for using the #1 on your layout.  My main #1 is in the circle that begins the title but there are 2 others down at the bottom in the date.

I am also entering this in Scrapbook.com Monochromatic Challenge #3 with a twist to use a flower cluster and Scrapbook.com PageMaps #1 sketch which I rotated 1/4 turn clockwise.and Scrapbook.com Using Larger Photos challenge as the photo collage is 5x7 and Sketches4all Rachelle's May Flowers challenge.

So here is the Color:

Here is the Sketch:

And here is my Layout:

I hope you have enjoyed all of today's posts...and there may be more as I have a few other things I need to create for a party tomorrow at church.  Thanks so much for stopping by to share in my memories.

HMMMMMMM.......TREAT BAGS

I really struggled with this one.  Chellange #13 over at Scrap Our Stash Stash-a-Thon was Treat Bags/Mini Bags.  I really had to think hard to figure out what I could use for a bag that would fit on my page.  Looking around at the mess of supplies on my desk I saw a small bankers envelope.  I got out those old old old shaped scissors and used the stamp cut to cut off the top of the envelope turning it into a little bag.  I also had decided to use a transparency to how everything lined up under the design was very important.  I chose Scrapbook.com April Four Categories #3 - Techniques:Sketch which called for using this sketch but altering it in some way.  I chose to rotate the sketch 1/4 turn clockwise and change the number of photos from 4 to 5.  After getting it all laid out I had to figure out how you would know it was a bag...so I had to find a way to fill it.  Off to my Scraprack to find some Christmas embellishments that could work.  I was lucky to find some fun epoxy stickers that worked perfectly.

Here is the Sketch:

Here is my Layout:

I didn't realize that the Scrap Our Stash challenge was ending in the afternoon rather than the evening so I am hurrying to finish up.  Only one challenge left.  Off to work on it!  Thanks for stopping by.

A SERIOUS GAME

Last night I completed some layouts from 2002 of my son playing chess at a summer library program by our home in the Poconos.  He always loved chess and learned to play at a very early age.  These photos were taken just before entering 4th Grade.

I used a great set of papers by Carta Bella called 'Well Played' wic I won in their Giddy Up Boy contest lst summer.  I chose March Sketch #3 from Let's Get Sketchy, and several chess pieces for Scrap Our Stash Stash-a-Thon challenge #12 Games/Game Pieces.

Here is the Sketch:

And here is my Layout:

For the next page I used Sketches4all April DT sketch, and gesso for the Scrap Our Stash Scrap-a-Thon challenge #8 Icing/Texture.

The Sketch:

My Layout:

I hope you have enjoyed traveling back to 2002 with me.  I am hoping to finish up the last 2 Scrap-a-Thon challenges so be sure to stop back again later.

THROWBACK TO CHRISTMAS

I still have so many photos from Christmas to get scrapped.  The challenge from Scrap Our Stash Stash-a-Thon #11 Hats/Triangles prompted me to make this triangle quilt pattern.  I used March sketch #4 from Let's Get Sketchy which I rotated 1/4 turn clockwise.

The Sketch:

My Layout:

I am also entering this layout in Sketches4All Cheryl's Challenge - use a button, and Scrapbook.com April Sewing Challenge with the twist of using a quilt pattern and the Boys Only challenge.no twist.

Over the next few weeks you will probably get to see more of our Christmas fun as I try desperately to get caught up.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

The Sketch:

The TicTacToe board:

I am also entering it into the Scrap Our Stash Stash-a-Thon Challenge # 10 Balloons which calls for something that flys in the air.

Finally here is my layout:

Hope you have enjoyed this little bit of natural beauty.  Can't wait to be seeing more of it live soon as the weather finally breaks.  Have a great day and thanks again for stopping by.
