HAPPY NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY!

Today I am going to share a few layouts I created today for National Scrapbook Day.

Dessert - ice cream - my choice - embossing

Here's my dinner -

My next layout is for Ann's Tradition challenge for the NSD Crop over at A Cherry on Top and for the May Stash challenge #26 at Scrap Our Stash.

GET OUT THOSE PHOTOS!

and let's get them scrapped!

I'm sure if you are reading my blog you have photos...probably lots and lots of them.  As for me, I literally have several large bins of them, plus numerous photo envelopes of them all over my desk.

This month I think I will make it my goal to use up as many as possible by doing layouts with several photos on them (unless I am entering a challenge calling for one or just a couple).

I will start out by presenting my challenge UUS15 from Soul Scrappers for you.

I am offering 2 prizes this month...one for the most photos used on a single page layout and the other for the oldest photos used.  Please drop by my challenge and check it out.  Join us at Soul Scrappers and use up those photos!  As well as have a lot of fun with all of our challenges!  This challenge will be running until 3/22!

Here is the page that I have used for the challenge...there are 5 photos from 2010!

and March 4 was International Scrapbooking Day.  In honor of that I created an international layout for my other challenge ISDTRV over at Soul Scrappers - ISD What exactly is it? This challenge will run until 3/25.

Hope that you will stop by and play in either or both of my challenges as well as the many other fun challenges that the other DT have to offer.

A FEW SPECIAL LAYOUTS......

I have a few layouts to share in what will probably be a fairly short post as I am running low on library time.  LOL!

I used the sketches from Cheryl's It's Your Choice January challenge on Sketches4All.

Here is Sketch #1-

I used this sketch to complete my layout of Thomas' tattoo which he got to honor Dad's memory as he passed away back in August.  He and Thomas spent a lot of good times fishing together.

I am also going to enter this layout into challenge #164 Anything Goes over at Word Art Wednesday.

My next layout uses sketch #3-

along with some photos from Christmas 2013.  (yes...I am that far behind and more with my scrapping!)

I hope that you have enjoyed these layouts.  I am planning on having a more creative 2015 so be on the lookout for a new post tomorrow!

As always, comments greatly appreciated.  Thanks for stopping by.

HOMECOMING!

This year my son Thomas decided to go to the High School Homecoming Dance.  The theme was Candyland.  I had just the papers to scrap this fun event.  I had bought them many years ago when we were playing board games and never got around to using them.  Sadly, the photos of the layouts are not really good because as I currently don't have a computer I have to use phone photos.  But...here are the layouts...

I was planning on using both papers together but couldn't figure out how not to lose the map parts so I decided to make that a title page and use the photo and ticket on the other page...

It's hard to see, but the page is mounted on black cardstock and of course the letters are black.  I am entering both of these pages in Sketches4All Stacy's Stash Challenge - Use Black.

The photo and ticket are mounted on black corrugated paper as well as the page being mounted on black cardstock also for that challenge.  I am going to enter this page also in Lasting Memories challenge #215 for using only one photo.

If I can get better photos I will update the page!  Thanks for stopping by.

MUSIC OF THE PAST

I finally put together two layouts from my Piano Recital in 1970!  You can really see the era in the flower power dress I am wearing.  Mom insisted on going to the beauty shop and I came out with a beehive hair-do (not quite to my liking).  I am using the actual invitation and the program from the recital.  On the inside of the program it also included our scores from the New Jersey Federation of Music testing and the selections we played at the recital.  I copied those onto cream colored cardstock to resemble the program.

Here are my layouts:

    LEFT

    RIGHT

I am entering these layouts in 4 Crafty Chicks challenge #4CC183 Music, Red Carpet Studios challenge RCS#64 the Academy Awards and Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog #3 Vintage or Retro.

I hope you enjoyed this blast from my past!  Thanks for stopping by.  All comments greatly appreciated.

IT'S FRIDAY - TIME FOR SNEAK PEEK FRIDAY WITH STUDIO JRU

This has been a rough week here for creating.  I have had a bad head cold that just won't quit and I haven't felt very creative and have been spending as much time as possible resting.  I guess I should go through my blog and my lists and see what I actually did accomplish this week...happy to be able to share even a little something.

1 layout:

5 cards

2 Art Journal Pages:

The last art journal page is for a series I am doing called A-Z of Me with Bernice Hopper.  I am behind as they are already at G.  You can find more info on it at:  http://anatozofme.blogspot.co.uk/

Hope you have a glorious weekend.  The weather is pretty bad here and there are a few online crops I am hoping to work on so hopefully I will have more creations to share with you next Friday!
