THE KING & QUEEN OF HEARTS

Coming in just under the wire I have a set of Mardi Gras Masks.

The Grand opening challenge for the Pinque Peacock was to alter a mask.  Here are the rules:

RULES
1.  Your altered mask MUST fit within of one of the following themes (the theme you followed on your mask must be recognizable to the challenge moderators)

  •  Valentine's Day/LOVE
  •  Mardi Gras
  •  St. Patrick's Day
  •  Shabby Chic
  •  Steampunk

2. Your entry must have some sort of Bling element. Lets see some sparkle!

3. The mask must feature your choice, either feathers, ribbon or lace, or some combination of these.

I started with a plain mask.  Here is a gold one.

I used the green and purple ones and had already decided what I was going to do - cut them in half and piece them together.  To do that I used black electrical tape.

For decoration I added gold, green and purple pearls, feathers, black lace and gold trim ribbons.

Here are the final results:

I distressed playing cards with Distress Inks, wrinkling them, distressing the edges and adding some stickles.  I printed the drama symbols on glossy paper and fussy cut them.

I added these to the corners!

I hope you have enjoyed my final masks!  Be sure to stop by Pinque Peacock and check out their challenges and fun products!
