BACK TO THE BEACH

Tonight I have another layout to share from my summer visits to Cape Henlopen.  My son and I had such a good time going there this summer.  There is a beautiful beach and lots of dunes and a lighthouse and just so much natural beauty.  I am not big on camping but they do have camping spots there and I may consider it for a night next summer as my younger son absolutely loves camping.  (I will do that if I survive camping for CreationFest Northeast in June!) Last year that was my introduction to the world of camping and at my age it is not something you start on a one inch yoga mat on rocky ground!

I used the sketch from Stuck!Sketches for their November 1st GDT call again.  I used it the other day and I rarely repeat sketches but I really liked this one and I needed a 3 photo sketch and this one was perfect...and this time I rotated it.

Here's the sketch:

and here is my layout:

Some of the fun features of this page are my favorite Martha Stewart Border punch which I edged with twill ribbon.

I really liked the mermaid from a pack of Creative Imaginations embellishments and I pop-dotted her as well as a few shells to give the page a bit more texture.

I took several photos on the trips we made there so you will get to see a lot more of the beach probably over the winter while I am wishing for brighter warmer days!

I am also going to share this layout over at Word Art Wednesday for Anything Goes #159.

Thanksgiving is nearly here.  My younger son and I are going to visit my step-family in Carlisle Pennsylvania and are hoping that the weather report which calls for snow is going to turn out to be incorrect.  This is the only time we usually get to see them during the year and have been looking forward to it.

May you and your families and friends have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving and be able to share your gratitude to God for all that you have and to remember in prayer all those that are less fortunate and may not have a warm place to enjoy a delicious meal.

Thanks again for stopping by!

BLESSED SUNDAY!

Hope everyone is relaxing and enjoying this beautiful fall Sunday.  At least here in Delaware it is still beautiful and fall...I know many of you in the Midwest are already feeling the effects of winter.

Today I have two things to share with you.

The first is a card is for challenge PARTY1 for the 5th Anniversary party over at Sketches4All.  It uses the sketch below and calls for a fussy cut item.

Here is the item I fussy cut -

Sketches4us fussycut item

And here is the card I created:

My next is a layout.  I used the November 1st sketch from Stuck!Sketches.  They are having a Guest Designer Call and I am going to throw my hat into the race...

Here's the sketch:

Here is my layout:

For a challenge I won last year I received the Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet collection.  I was so excited to find these old photos from a childhood trip to see Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gelsey Kirkland dance The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center.  I included hidden journaling about the day under the large nutcracker...

I use pop dots under the gingerbread boys to give things a bit more dimension.

Also post to turtle soup Bev's challenge

I am also entering this into the November 2014 Mini Crop challenge #6 over at Turtle Soup.  It calls for using old photos on a holiday layout.

I hope you have enjoyed this bit of holiday cheer!

Thanks for stopping by...all comments gratefully appreciated.

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!

Last night I created a few Christmas cards for a few current challenges.  The first one used a stamp I was so excited to use as it is just SO cute, from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I used sketch #372 from Mojo Monday

My Card:

This card is so much fun as the white scalloped circle is actually a mini card which I put a sentiment inside.

I am also entering this card in Sketches4All Cheryl's Christmas Card Challenge - Anything Goes.

My next card is using Feeling Sketchy #108.

The sketch:

and my card:

I had fun with this as I knew that this reindeer that I picked up at the local Dollar Store would work great on a card.  I had some wonderful silver & gold Anna Griffith papers and sentiments to go with it.

I am also entering this in Sketches4All 5th Anniversary challenge PARTY2 which calls for a holiday card NOT using the traditional red and green and both of these cards in Soul Scrappers KKC1 calling for creating 2 Christmas Cards.

I hope you have enjoyed this little blast of holiday preparations!  Stop back soon for more creations!

TINY TUESDAY

I went to my Knitting Group at the Library tonite so I didn't have as much time for papercrafting.  I was able to complete one layout though...

I started with this fun sketch from Stuck?!Sketches

I decided that the circle on the right side would be perfect for a doily for Giorgia's challenge over at Sketches4all.

And here is what I came up with:

In order to blend my doily in I inked it with Distress Inks Walnut Stain.  This is going to be the first page in my book from the Robin's Nest Crop I went to in Ohio back in September.

Tonite I hopefully will get a bit of creating done to share with you tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by...and of course, all comments greatly appreciated.

A VERY PRODUCTIVE EVENING!

I am so happy to share that I had a good deal of mojo last night and was able to complete 4 layouts from my scrapping trip to Ohio back in September.

The first is a photo of me and my 'Secret Sisters'.  Before the crop we were given names and we treated the gals to little things that they enjoyed like favorite candies or scrapping supplies.  In The photo to my left is Robin (the gal that hosted the crop) and to my right is Linda.  I was blessed to have two wonderful Secret Sisters too...Melissa and Kim that blessed me with some wonderful handmade items, treats and personalized goodies.  I hope I can find a photo of me with them too.

For this layout I used the November DT sketch and Inspiration board from Sketches4all.

The Sketch:

The Inspiration Boards:

For inspiration I used the colors as well as the word friends.

And here is my page:

I am also entering this layout into the Turtle Soup Inspiration Friday challenge which called for using stars, circles, triangles or an '&'.

My next layout uses the sketch from DCWV November Stack-a-Holic Challenge as well as papers from 2 fun DCWV Stacks - the Edumacation Stack and the School Days Stack.

Here's the sketch:

And here is my layout:

Next up is a page using Let's Get Sketchy November Week 2 sketch:

and my layout:

And last is using SC84 Sketch Challenge with a Twist from Soul Scrappers.  The twist was to use paint and doodling.

Here is the Sketch:

Here is my layout:

I was so excited to have so much to share with you!  I hope that you have enjoyed getting to see part of my trip.  There will be a lot more to follow!

SUNDAY NIGHT CREATIVE TIME!

After a fun Sunday evening dinner with friends I came home and managed to sneak in a bit of creative time.  A friend of mine from church lost her mother and I wanted to send a nice condolence card to her.

I found a simple sketch over at Case This Sketch that worked out quite well for what I had planned.

Here it is:

Here is my card:

My photos are not the greatest since without a PC I have to transfer them from a phone.  The background is a black cardstock.  It is layered with a satin embossed white paper and a black velvet embossed paper.  The flower is one of my favorite Sizzix embosslets.

I also have entered this card in Stacy's Card Challenge to 'use black' over at Sketches4All.

I then moved on to create a layout with a collage photo of flowers from a trip to Longwood Gardens in August 2013.

I chose Make It Monday #29 from The Memory Nest for my sketch.

Here's the sketch:

I just noticed that it calls for using a mixed media element.  I hope that the rhinestones and the ink on all the edges will qualify!  I don't know how I missed that line when creating my layout...

Here it is!

I hope you have enjoyed this little peek at what I have been up to.  Hopefully there will be more to share tomorrow!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  All comments gratefully appreciated.

SEEING THE BEAUTY.....

Today I finally got to use some photos I took back in July of some very twisted trees at Lums Pond State Park.  I thought it was amazing how the limbs wound around each other and themselves.  The shapes were amazing.

Over at Soul Scrappers challenge QC42 Confuscious Say challenged us to use some sayings of the wise Confuscious and I thought this one was just perfect for those trees...

'Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it...'

The November 7th sketch over at Stuck on U Sketches that was just perfect.

Here is the sketch:

and here is my layout:

I hope you have enjoyed this brief glance into my walk that day at Lums Pond.  There are lots more photos to share so keep watching!

BACK TO SCHOOL AND 2013 WOMEN OF FAITH

Finally getting around to doing Thomas back to school photos for his Sophomore year.  I had 4 photos but decided that if I cropped them right it would work well with the sketch for November Week 1 over at Let's Get Sketchy

Here is the sketch:

I used my 4 photos and here is my layout:

I am also entering this in Sharon's 4Plus challenge over at Sketches4All.  Her challenge was to use 4 photos plus twine.  As you can see I used some twine on both sides of my title bar.

My next layout uses this wonderful sketch (#28) from Make It Monday on The Memory Nest.  I was sure to use several layers to include it also for Angela's layers challenge at Sketches4All.  Her challenge called for using at least 6 layers.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my Layout:

I hope that you enjoyed getting to see my endeavors from last night.  I am hoping to be able to get a few more done this evening after the library closes.

HAPPY MID-MONTH PLUS SOME EXCITING NEWS!

Welcome to the middle of November.  While I'm sure some of us are getting ready for our big Thanksgiving celebration coming up soon I have a fun fall layout to share with you from the Colorful Creations team.

Here is the sketch we were provided with:

and this month a Mood Board was also included:

and here is the layout I created:

I so wish that I could get a better photo to share with you...being without a computer at home and having to do everything from the phone and the library computer is so difficult.

Please head over to the Colorful Creations page and enter your own wonderful creation.

This layout was also inspired by Rochelle's Word Art over on Sketches4All . I used a photo of me from a beautiful fall day in Delaware just last week and also added some fall leaves as embellishment.

I also want to enter this layout over at Word Art Wednesday challenge #158 Anything goes.

And now for the exciting news...Colorful Creations will be leaving after December but starting up with a wonderful new site called Picture This! You really need to head right over there and see what it is going to be all about!  There is a DT call going on until December 1st.

SO INSPIRED!

Today I want to share a layout I created last night for the sketch and mood board challenge for the upcoming holiday issue of the online publication 'Let's Get Inspired!'

Here is the sketch which I rotated 1/4 turn clockwise:

and the wonderful holiday mood board:

and here is my layout:

I also did another holiday layout using the Flying Unicorn challenge Flying Unicorn Gives Back Sketch by Alda and Shona.

Here is the sketch which I rotated 1/4 turn clockwise:

and here is my layout:

As soon as I found this paper in my stash I knew it would be perfect for this photo!

I have also entered these layouts in the Create for Less Holiday Contest.

I wish the photos would be clearer but I am still stuck using the phone for photos and the library computer with IE so nothing else is compatible.

HOMECOMING!

This year my son Thomas decided to go to the High School Homecoming Dance.  The theme was Candyland.  I had just the papers to scrap this fun event.  I had bought them many years ago when we were playing board games and never got around to using them.  Sadly, the photos of the layouts are not really good because as I currently don't have a computer I have to use phone photos.  But...here are the layouts...

I was planning on using both papers together but couldn't figure out how not to lose the map parts so I decided to make that a title page and use the photo and ticket on the other page...

It's hard to see, but the page is mounted on black cardstock and of course the letters are black.  I am entering both of these pages in Sketches4All Stacy's Stash Challenge - Use Black.

The photo and ticket are mounted on black corrugated paper as well as the page being mounted on black cardstock also for that challenge.  I am going to enter this page also in Lasting Memories challenge #215 for using only one photo.

If I can get better photos I will update the page!  Thanks for stopping by.
